Overview

Tygor is a Toyota Land Cruiser 79 chassis-based armored personnel carrier (APC). Tygor was designed for military purposes to carry personnel and multipurpose weapon systems on the mission. The APC’s front segment provides a driving compartment, which carries a driver and commanding officer of the APC. The troop compartment can accommodate up to 8 persons. It ensures the troop’s safety with its ultimate design, light-weighted high-quality armor plating, and reinforced transparent areas. This provides the highest level of security from all military-grade threats like gun attacks, shelling, and blasting. As per the client’s requirement turret option with 360-degree protection can be added.

Armored Level

All Vehicles are B6 level are armored using materials, both opaque and transparent, that meet or exceed the requirements of the European CEN 1522/23 and CEN 1063 standards to the level FB6 for opaque areas and BR6 for transparent areas.

All four sides of the passenger compartment and the roof of the vehicle are protected using high-quality armor steel and glass defeating 7.62x51mm M80 Nato Ball ammunition (U.S. NIJ level III, CEN level FB6/BR6) and 5.56×45 SS109 ammunition (CEN level FB5/BR5 and FB6/BR6) at 0° incidence (90° to the surface) and 10m range according to CEN1063 and CEN1522.

Opaque Areas:

All opaque areas including the roof are protected against the following and all lesser weapons/ ammunitions at 90° impact angle in accordance with the above specifications.

  • Calibre 5.56 x 45 mm, FJ/PB/SCP, M16 Colt
  • Calibre 7.62 x 51 mm, FJ/PB/SC, (FN) “FAL” / “LAR” NATO rifle

Transparent Areas:

All transparent areas are multi-layer and polycarbonate coated to protect against the following and all lesser weapons/ ammunitions at 90° impact angle in accordance with the above specifications.

The floor of the vehicle is designed to defeat the following:

  • Two DM 51 hand grenade (German Norm) detonated simultaneously
  • 1x HG85 (equivalent to M67 Grenade) under vehicle

In addition, the floor also offers protection against anti-personnel mines. Roof (Enhanced Roof Protection)

The Roof of the vehicle is designed to defeat the following:

  • 2x DM51 Hand Grenade Placed directly on the roof
  • 1x HG85 Hand Grenade (Equiv. to M67 Grenade) Placed directly on the roof
  • 2x HG85 Hand Grenades (Equiv. to 2xM67 grenades) placed directly on the roof
