V-6R1 Engine

The V-6R1 battle tank engine – is naturally aspirated with a retracted unit, single-block with vertical cylinders. Installed on ZSU-23-4 “Shilka” – self-propelled anti-aircraft gun.

Differences
The V-6R-1 engine has the following differences from the V-6 diesel engine:
  1. The generator is not installed.
  2. The installation place of the generator drive on the upper crankcase is closed with a cover.
  3. The tube connecting the heating cavity of the lower crankcase with the water pump is not installed.
  4. No drain valve is installed on the water pump, and the hole is plugged with a plug, instead of a plug on the block at the sixth cylinder, a branch pipe is installed for additional drainage of coolant.
  5. A square for draining the coolant from the block head with a slightly modified design.
  6. The branch pipe for draining oil from MC-1 is turned in the other direction; – a system of forced removal of crankcase gases is applied, for which the breather on the lid has a branch pipe for connecting a hose from the air cleaner, and the pipe for draining oil from the head does not have an additional prompter.
